- Tape measure
- ½ inch wide elastic
- Two safety pins
- Straight Pins

- Measure the width and the length of the table. Add 2 inches both to the width and length measurement. If using an oval or table round, add 2 inches to the diameter measurement.
- Cut the fabric vinyl according to the dimensions in Step 1.
- Place the slash vinyl against a flat face, with the vinyl’s wrong side facing you. If you are working with vinyl, you’ll be searching at flannel backing.
- Fold the vinyl’s edges to the wrong side, outlining a 2-inch wide casing. This casing is a sewer or so-called “tunnel,” wherein the elastic will be stranded through. Pin the edges afterward as you go down the boundaries to secure them in place.
- Using straight suture on the sewing machine, stitch the vinyl’s edges, along the pins, leaving a 3-inch gap or opening into which the elastic will nourish. Get rid of the pins as sewing developments.
- Cut a part of elastic determining half of the joint dimensions of the table (the capacity of both ends and sides combined).
- Attach a safety pin to elastic’s end. Attach the previous safety pin towards the other elastic end of the opening in the vinyl casing. In this manner, you will not lose the resilient casing as you perform.
- Feel the safety pin over the vinyl, nourish the elastic in the course of the gathering, pushing, casing, pulling and working, until the elastic and safety pin comes out of the ends of the casing.
- By hand sew using the thread and needle, the elastic to the vinyl and the 3-inch opening closed.
- Twist the elasticated tablecloth with the right-side-out and slip it over the top of the table, stretching the elastic edge over the hem underneath the table.
